It takes 10 times longer to build an end-grain board than it does to build a flat grain one, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. An end-grain butcher block will last a lifetime because it “self-heals,” closing over after every cut of your knife so you won’t scar the surface. This protects your knives and allows the wood to replenish itself. When you ply your favorite knife on one, you’ll understand why our specially designed end-grain blocks are the best in the world.

The beauty of a properly crafted butcher block all starts with the choice of lumber. Black Angus Block privately sources the finest timber from around the world and hand selects each piece individually to ensure that your Black Angus Block is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Every Black Angus Block is carefully assembled using the finest FDA approved glues and finishes. Every Black Angus cutting board goes through an 8-step, hand-rubbed process using our proprietary blend of organic oils and waxes to produce a rich, deep finish on your Black Angus cutting board. CAUTION: A Black Angus Block is so beautiful that you might feel bad cutting on it. Don’t hold back. Go ahead; that’s what it’s made for!

We design each Black Angus block as if it was a piece of furniture.  Even though we build our blocks in the traditional of the classic butcher block, our designs are stylish and fashionable. That is why the Black Angus block is revered by professional and home cooks all over the world. When you unwrap your Black Angus block, you will understand what we mean!

Black Angus Blocks are virtually antibacterial

If you have concerns about bacteria on your cutting surfaces, a Black Angus cutting board is a must to keep you and your family safe. Scientists at the University of Wisconsin’s Food Research Institute tested Black Angus like blocks and compared them with plastic cutting boards.

They purposely contaminated all boards with organisms that cause food poisoning, such as Salmonella, Listeria and Escherichia coli. Within three (3) minutes on the Black Angus blocks, 99.9 percent of the bacteria died off, while none died on the plastic ones. Just think how safe this will make your kitchen!

It is where families gather to eat, drink and share. It is where food from all countries, all cultures is prepared and enjoyed with those we love.

We believe that the butcher block is the centerpiece of every kitchen. After all, when you think about it, the butcher block, no matter how big or small, is where it all starts.

But when you cut into a Black Angus Block, you’ll immediately feel the difference. wax-v4How to take care of your Black Angus Block

Black Angus Block cutting boards are virtually indestructible. They will last for generations to come. When you receive your first Black Angus Block, you will be amazed on just how beautiful it is. But don’t hold back; we want you to use and abuse it! That’s what it is made for. Once in a while, you’ll want to give our Black Angus Block a little TLC. Simply clean it, rub some Black Angus Block Wax over the surface, and then watch your cutting board come back to life. Cut, chop, butcher–honestly, there’s not much it can’t handle. And when you’re finished, simply wipe with a wet cloth and let dry. The wood will do its job in eliminating bacteria. Because wood is a living organism, we recommend that you never soak your Black Angus Block or wash it in the dishwasher.

After a few weeks of heavy use, you may see the shine start to dissipate. Don’t worry; all you need to do is give your Black Angus Block a little love with our exclusive reconditioning wax. Just follow these simple instructions:

Wipe your Black Angus cutting board with a wet cloth.

If your Black Angus Block is badly damaged, use fine steel wool or very fine sandpaper to smooth the surface.

Let it fully dry.

Using a dry cloth, spread a small amount of Black Angus reconditioning wax over the board and work vigorously into the grain.

Use a clean cloth to buff the surface and see your cutting board come back to life. Recondition it as often as you like. Your Black Angus Block will thank you!

WARNING: Prolonged exposure to heat and/or water will cause your cutting board to warp and crack. This is why you should never submerge your Black Angus butcher block underwater or wash it in the dishwasher. We are not responsible for damage caused by poor handling of your block.
