How to take care of your Black Angus Block
Black Angus Block cutting boards are virtually indestructible. They will last for generations to come. When you receive your first Black Angus Block, you will be amazed on just how beautiful it is. But don’t hold back; we want you to use and abuse it! That’s what it is made for. Once in a while, you’ll want to give our Black Angus Block a little TLC. Simply clean it, rub some Black Angus Block Wax over the surface, and then watch your cutting board come back to life. Cut, chop, butcher–honestly, there’s not much it can’t handle. And when you’re finished, simply wipe with a wet cloth and let dry. The wood will do its job in eliminating bacteria. Because wood is a living organism, we recommend that you never soak your Black Angus Block or wash it in the dishwasher.
After a few weeks of heavy use, you may see the shine start to dissipate. Don’t worry; all you need to do is give your Black Angus Block a little love with our exclusive reconditioning wax. Just follow these simple instructions:
Wipe your Black Angus cutting board with a wet cloth.
If your Black Angus Block is badly damaged, use fine steel wool or very fine sandpaper to smooth the surface.
Let it fully dry.
Using a dry cloth, spread a small amount of Black Angus reconditioning wax over the board and work vigorously into the grain.
Use a clean cloth to buff the surface and see your cutting board come back to life. Recondition it as often as you like. Your Black Angus Block will thank you!
WARNING: Prolonged exposure to heat and/or water will cause your cutting board to warp and crack. This is why you should never submerge your Black Angus butcher block underwater or wash it in the dishwasher. We are not responsible for damage caused by poor handling of your block.
